People of Stoney Middleton - Robert Andrew (1833-1906)

Old Photograph of Robert Andrew (1833-1906) (Stoney Middleton)

Robert ANDREW was born in Smalldale, Bradwell about 1833, and baptised at Hope on 8 Jan 1833, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth ANDREW; one of 14 children. By the time of Eyam Census in 1851, he was working as a Farm Servant at the farm of Peter ELLIOTT, and his wife Alice at Bretton. He came to live in Stoney Middleton some time prior to 1860, when he married Mary GODDARD, daughter of James and Jane GODDARD, and by the time of the 1861 census he'd become a leadminer, like his father, who had died in 1844.[1] Robert himself died in 1906, aged 73 years - see Stoney Middleton MIs.
