People of Stoney Middleton - Jeremiah & Millicent Buckley

Old Photograph of Jeremiah & Millicent Buckley (Stoney Middleton)

Standing (left to right):
Eric James GODDARD, Ethel GODDARD, Jeremiah BUCKLEY, Millicent BUCKLEY (formerly GODDARD, née MASON), Nellie MASON.
In front (left to right): Joyce BUCKLEY, Steve BUCKLEY.

I have seen two copies of this photograph - one provided by Tony Mason, the other by Ilah Hockin, who was also kind enough to provide a list of names. Tony's interest is on the MASON side; Eric James was Ilah's father. Prior to marrying Jeremiah BUCKLEY, Millicent MASON was married to James GODDARD (brother of George Robert, of Goddard's Quarry); James was born in 1887 and died in 1917.

This photograph is taken when Jeremiah and Millicent were about to embark on the Montrose, to sail to Canada in 1926, destined for St. John, in New Brunswick. Ilah's father Eric was then aged 12. They bought a dairy farm at Okotoks, in Alberta but returned to England in 1945, and Jeremiah and Millicent are buried in St Helen's Churchyard, Grindleford.
